The HOPTEC Program is the result of a shared interest between Instituto Superior Técnico and Johns Hopkins University to collaborate and promote cutting-edge research and opportunities in the field of engineering applied to life sciences for students and researchers from Portugal and the USA.
Every year, two master’s students from Técnico are selected to develop their master’s thesis research work at Hopkins. Each of these students is awarded a HOPTEC Scholarship to support their 6-month visit to Hopkins. This initiative offers students a lifetime opportunity, providing them privileged access to cutting-edge technological tools, transfer of knowledge and interdisciplinary research.

The HOPTEC Annual Symposium is the annual event of the HOPTEC Project, gathering students and researchers in the Bioengineering field and promoting a variety of opportunities in the area.
Take parte in the HOPTEC online seminar series every last Tuesday of the month and hear from experts in the biomedical field from Técnico Lisboa and Johns Hopkins.
